The band and the whole crew had a great time in the shooting of this video. The concept is the creation of Artists Helen Warner and Sighle Bhreathnach-Cashell.
Our actress, Aoife Malone, gave everything to her role in the video and never once complained of the freezing, biting winds on her day of the shoot.
Huge thanks to the Director, Darren Lee. This is the second video that we have worked with him on and we can truly say that he’s become a friend to us. Check out his other videos at http://www.maverickrenegade.net.
SINGLE ‘BROKEN HANDS’ IS RELEASED ON 1ST DECEMBER 2013 THROUGH ITUNES AND VARIOUS OTHER ONLINE RETAILERS.
Levity Breaks release their debut EP ‘Maudlin’ on 6th October 2013. It will be available through MondoTunes in all major digital music stores online. They have announced a Belfast show on Thursday 3rd October in Limelight2.
Levity Breaks make music with pop appeal but on closer inspection there’s an unmistakable melancholy that stirs the listener profoundly. It’s this collision of light and shade that make the music so intoxicating and far reaching with songs with universal appeal.
DEBUT EP ‘MAUDLIN’ AVAILABLE DIGITALLY WORLDWIDE ON 6TH OCTOBER 2013
Tickets are £5, available on the door.
Ok, so we had the the majority of our Broken Hands EP recorded when we made the difficult decision to restart the project from scratch. For those of you unfamiliar with the process of studio recording, it’s often a hard slog that’s demanding of time, patience and pocket money. The decision to abandon months of work was not one we made lightly but we knew we had it in us to do better.
So this time we’re doing things differently. This time we think bigger.
Recording has begun (again) and we expect to have our ‘Broken Hands Ep’ in your hands before the end of this year.
Thanks for your patience.

We were recently invited to perform acoustic renditions of three of our songs for GiftedLive, the exciting new on-line live streaming event which takes place in the legendary Empire Music Hall every month. GiftedLive has previously featured the likes of Duke Special, The Answer and RunawayGO so obviously it was an honour to be asked. The songs we performed are three of the four tracks which will feature on our upcoming EP. We were joined by the very lovely and talented Louise Smyth on Violin who we hope to work with again soon. Also performing on the day were head liners, Master and Dog, who we’ve been fortunate enough to play with before, Robb Murphy who impressed us very much and the inimitable, Wonder Villains. Here is our performance…
We’re currently holed up at our studio in Craigavon recording our debut EP. The EP will be self-produced and consist of 4 tracks, all of which have already been written. We’re thinking hugely ambitious with this release and are very excited with plans to work with Darren Lee again on a video release. We plan to continue to gig around the north with the possibility of playing some festivals this coming summer.
Blogger, broadcaster and journalist David O’Keefe had this to say about us:
BBC Screens are currently showing our Video for our song ‘The Floor’ in Belfast and Derry. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here:
We were asked to headline at the Mandella Hall at the 11th hour in place off BestBoyGrip who was having throat issues. It was a ‘Queens Radio Presents…’ show and there’s a live video from that show here:
